The Google Anita Borg Memorial Scholarship - Asia
"Dr. Anita Borg (1949 - 2003) believed that technology affect all aspects of our economic, political, social and personal lives. She devoted her adult life to revolutionize the way we think about technology and dismantling barriers that keep women and minorities from entering computing and technology fields. Her combination of technical expertise and fearless vision continues to inspire and motivate countless women to become active participants and leaders in creating technology.
The scholarships will be awarded based on the strength of candidates’ academic performance, leadership experience and demonstrated passion for computer science. A group of female Bachelor’s, Master’s, and PhD students will be chosen from the applicant pool. Applicant must meet the following eligibility requirements,
- Be a female student enrolled in full-time undergraduate or postgraduate study at an university.
- Be enrolled at a University in any of the following countries: Korea, Japan, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, and Vietnam. Citizens, permanent residents, and international students are eligible to apply.
- Be studying Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a closely related technical field.
- Maintain an excellent academic record.

Google April Fool Prank 2012
Alright, Google did it again! Google is in it to release a bunch of cool technologies today! I find some of these amazingly exciting and hilarious. And base on a lot of the users' comments, it seems that some people are actually confuse if it is real. LOL..
Here are a collection of the 'new technologies' released by Google today.
1) Introducing Gmail Tap, it replaces 26 keyboards keys with 2 keys (a dot and a dash). It could potentially double your productivity by typing two emails at once.

2) Google Maps 8-bit for NES (Nintendo Entertainment System). The Google engineering team in Japan announce a new version of Google Maps specially design for NES with its beautiful low resolution graphics and since and intuitive controls.
Go to Google Maps and click the 'Quest' button on the top right corner. Or you can click on this NES 8-bit Map link.

3) Bring Google self driving car to NASCAR. For those of you who are familiar with Google self-driving car project, Google is venturing into a new project called Google Racing.

4) Introducing The YouTube Collection. YouTube today make this service available for you to have the YouTube videos in DVD!

5) Google Chrome introduces new way to multitask, the Multitask Mode. It let you to have access to multiple mice simultaneously so you can do multiple tasks at the same time!

6) Communicate with Jargon. Google Apps for Business introducing Jargon-Bot to recognize business term and translate them into clear jargon in real time!
7) Introducing Google Voice for Pets. Expand the voice and text message to your pets. And with Google transcription engine, they are able to translate cat meows or dog growls into English.

8) Google Click-to-Teleport Extensions (beta). Fastest way to from point A to point B. the teleportation technology enable just one click, and customer is instantly transported to your business location and ready to shop.
